Sreehareeyam is a centre for Ayurvedic treatment and research. Its strength rests on its team of doctors — and on a medicine that has been continuously practised since the Vedic period.
The physicians
A founder who has practised for forty-five years, a Medical Director who sits on the board of a 17,000-member pharmacy, a Chief Consultant initiated into the Ashta Vaidyan tradition of Kerala, and a Yoga Acharya certified by the Ministry of AYUSH. Three of them are one family.
The method
Sreehareeyam adheres strictly to Ayurvedic principle. Every case resolves to one of two approaches — and which one, and how much of it, is decided by the vaidya after examining the patient. Never before.
Sodhana
Five procedures that cleanse the body of increased or vitiated doshas. Not all five are used on any one person: in each disease only specific doshas rise, and every procedure is specific to a dosha.
Samana
Ayurvedic medicines administered to treat the specific condition. Used where a patient has no time for Panchakarma, and for minor conditions that do not require it. Duration ranges from a single course to a year or more, depending on severity.
Alongside both sit the classical external therapies — 7 of them, from Abhyangam to Netra vasti.

Sreehareeyam’s COVID work produced a case report in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, a longitudinal comparison across 1,000 hospital admissions in Uttar Pradesh, and a preventive programme that reached 19,084 people across twelve Tamil Nadu villages.

Institutional standing
IMPCOPS was established in 1944 and has 17,000 members comprising traditional vaidyas and AYUSH practitioners. It manufactures around 1,000 traditional preparations. Dr G Meera is one of sixteen elected directors for the 2022–2027 term, under the presidency of Dr Kannan BSMS MD, and focuses on developing research on AYUSH medicines in association with prominent scientific institutions including IIT Chennai.
