Gnanavarshini Trust, established in 2000, is a charitable institution constituted with the main object of dissemination of knowledge, through the teachings of Vedanta including Ayurveda. Its sole objective is the performance of educational, charitable and philanthropic activities, including health related, for the benefit of the public without any discrimination of caste, creed, gender, language or religion.
Current activity
Eleven things, most of them weekly.
- 01 Irula tribal welfare, with specific reference to health
- 02 Free weekly Ayurveda camps in and around the villages of Uthiramerur
- 03 Free distribution of preventive medicines to the Irulas and the villages during epidemics — COVID, dengue and others
- 04 Free yoga therapy for the Irulas and the villagers
- 05 Annadanam for the needy in villages
- 06 Guiding Irulas and local farmers on herbal cultivation
- 07 Free medical camps in schools, colleges and Veda patashalas
- 08 Health awareness for young children in patashalas, through online classes and workshops
- 09 Enabling the education of Irula children in and around Uthiramerur
- 10 Providing stationery to the underprivileged
- 11 Free village clinics and awareness workshops on natural health

- Revive, propagate and preserve traditional Ayurvedic surgical and clinical practice for the benefit of society
- Work for the welfare of the AYUSH system and its doctors
- Create a setup for the preservation of Ashtanga Ayurveda, with comparative understanding of the Tamil and Sanskrit texts of Siddha and Ayurveda
- Work towards introducing technology that suits Ayurvedic perspectives
- Improve the health of Irula tribals by supplying iron supplements
- Teach basic Ayurveda in Veda patashalas
- Empower the common man with practical Ayurveda
