Seventh-generation physician of the Kariyat family, a lineage of Ayurvedic paediatricians. Forty-five years in practice, teaching and medicine manufacture.

Yoga Acharya at Sreehareeyam, following her Vaidya forefathers — her father Dr Ayyappan Kariyat and her brother Dr Sudheer. She has practised since childhood in the Patanjali school.
